How to use it & source limits
Hold the touchpad button to open the Player Interaction Menu in GTA Online. A short press changes camera perspective instead.
These two defaults explicitly name PS5 in Rockstar support. Checked 22 October 2026; articles updated May / April 2024. No patch number is specified, and these inputs have not been independently tested in-game. Custom layouts may differ.
On-foot, driving and combat bindings are not verified in this first reference. They are not inferred from PS4 guides.

GTA V Story Mode follows Franklin, Michael and Trevor. It is separate from your GTA Online character and activities.
- Choose Story Mode in your game.
- Follow the campaign rather than an Online job.

In GTA Online, joining an existing crew is different from paying to host.
- Open your in-game phone.
- Find Quick Job → Play Heist, as named in Rockstar support.
This support route describes the original apartment heists, not every later heist. Hosting those requires Rank 12 and a high-end apartment; an invitation lets you join without those hosting requirements. Menu wording may differ in your current version.

Rockstar’s starter guide points players to the phone’s Quick Join for available races and other modes.
- Open the in-game phone and look for Quick Join.
- Choose an available activity and check its lobby details.
The older starter guide uses Quick Join; the heist support page uses Quick Job. Follow the labels in your version. No live playlist, player count, reward or vehicle availability is checked here.

On PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC Enhanced, Career Builder offers Biker, Executive, Gunrunner or Nightclub Owner paths.
- Read the Career Builder choices before committing.
- Keep your existing character unless you actually intend to replace it.
Career Builder can only be used once. Deleting a character does not restore it. This is not a recommendation to reset or buy anything.
